CHARGE AROUND THE GLOBE

Charge Around the Globe is a three-part documentary series that redefines branded content, showcasing the power of storytelling to engage audiences beyond traditional advertising. Streaming on Prime Video, the series was created to launch the Ford Explorer EV and address one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption: skepticism about range, reliability, and real-world capability.


Inspired by Ford’s history, the series reimagines the story of Aloha Wanderwell, who became the first woman to drive around the world in a Ford Model T over a century ago. To bring this legacy into the modern era, we partnered with record-breaking explorer Lexie Limitless, challenging her to circumnavigate the globe in the all-electric Ford Explorer.


The journey spanned 200 days, over 30,000 kilometers, six continents, and 27 countries—more than just a campaign, it became an authentic test of the Explorer’s capabilities and the potential of electric travel. Along the way, Lexie aimed to break a world record while overcoming real challenges, from navigating EV infrastructure in remote locations to connecting with trailblazers who shared her spirit of exploration.


Directed by BAFTA-winner Chris Faith and produced by BAFTA-winning executive Mark Saben, the series delivers an emotional, cinematic narrative that immerses viewers in Lexie’s highs, hurdles, and discoveries. Episode 1 covers her journey from Nice, France, to Mombasa, Kenya, showcasing the intricacies of global EV travel. Episodes 2 and 3 follow her through Australia, Asia, the Americas, and back to Europe, weaving in encounters with remarkable individuals and breathtaking locations.


What sets Charge Around the Globe apart is its innovative use of storytelling as entertainment, not advertising. It’s a proof point for Ford’s EV capabilities, but it’s also a deeply engaging narrative about resilience, innovation, and exploration. By shifting perceptions of EVs through a real-world journey, the series transcends traditional advertising, creating content that audiences genuinely want to watch.


The campaign has sparked global conversations around EV adoption and positioned Ford as a pioneer in the future of travel—all while proving that the best storytelling happens when brands go beyond the expected.
