B1G DUCK

Last year’s college football season was full of surprises, especially when several PAC-12 teams announced they were headed for the B1G Conference in the fall. Among the most notable of these moves was the Oregon Ducks, marking a new era in college football.

We knew the Ducks needed to make a big splash when saying “hello” to their new conference. So what to do when all eyes are on the most recognizable college football team in America?

Make a massive inflatable duck of course.

That’s right, during this summer’s B1G Media Days conference, we busted out a massive 65-foot inflatable Duck to float in Indianapolis’ White River — perfectly situated right outside where the event was held in Lucas Oil Stadium. The stunt immediately went viral and had sports fanatics all over the country talking about the team.

And to continue the hype for fans, we supplemented the stunt with a social film that launched on the last day of the conference. To solidify the team’s entrance, Head Coach Dan Lanning took the stage and let college football fans around the nation know that the Ducks have landed in B1G Country and are “mighty different”.

The stunt was such a hit that even the “Visit Indy” tourism team sent us a congratulatory email expressing their gratitude for the mass amount of media attention — and that they too, may be converted Duck fans.

Since introducing the inflatable duck over the summer, it has traveled with the team to conference games near and far as the Ducks have continued to reign as the undefeated number one team in college football.

With widespread coverage across local, sports, and national media, alongside a ton of social conversation, we helped the Oregon Ducks make their presence known and marked a new chapter in the university’s history.
